Director, Demand Generation EMEA

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Director of EMEA Demand Generation (DG), based in Amsterdam, reporting to Ekata’s Global Vice President of Demand Generation. You will be responsible for demand generation in the EMEA theater; DG team management, strategy calibration, promotional program execution, and partnering across Mastecard’s matrixed sales and marketing organizations.


This role requires a broad mix of experience in general marketing, cross-functional teaming, PAN-European demand generation, individual development, and working in mature matrix environments. All marketing tactics are on the table, with heavy reliance on field, partner, and ABM marketing. You will partner with Ekata’s EMEA revenue generation team and across Mastercard’s sales and marketing organizations, to develop and implement successful revenue generation strategies. 


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee Ekata’s EMEA demand generation strategy execution
  • Manage, lead, and develop the team responsible for deploying full-funnel demand generation in EMEA
  • Represent the demand generation function within EMEA both internally and externally
  • Partner with the EMEA leadership: heads of sales, product marketing, account management, and partnerships to operationalize Ekata’s revenue generation engine
  • Own the budget, KPIs, and performance metrics for the EMEA demand generation function
  • Be the resident expert in demand generation tactics: direct promotion, field events, roundtables, webinars, content marketing, regional tradeshows, etc.
  • Assist in the design, and execute end-to-end marketing campaigns that deliver MQLs and pipeline growth
  • Lay the foundation for integrated marketing across Mastercard’s brands, working closely with the Ekata sales team, Mastercard’s core sales team, and central marketing based in Seattle, WA
  • Set a tone of high standards, market knowledge, and data-driven decision-making to be a center of excellence for demand generation within Ekata-Mastercard
  • Analyze, report and optimize all demand generation programs based on ROI and demand gen and sales effectiveness
  • Establish adherence to global processes and standardized reporting
  • Get to the root of issues and blockers and then intelligently implement tools and technologies to get the job done

Key Experience

  • Extensive experience in relevant marketing and demand generation roles
  • Mastery of full-funnel demand generation tactics (digital, content, event, field, direct mail, etc.)
  • Experience managing marketing teams in multinational matrix organization
  • Previous PAN-European demand generation experience
  • Technically adept in marketing automation, salesforce, administrative tool usage, Adobe creative suite (or equivalent), data analysis, data pulling
  • Expert presentation skills with the ability to confidently and credibly present to audiences of 20+
  • Versed in the general marketing functions (PR, Product Marketing, Communications, Marketing Operations) with a experience working in a large globally distributed marketing organization
  • Experience working directly with sales organizations and channel partners. Demonstrated understanding of sales methodology, organization, and process
  • Expert project management and administrative skills and the ability to track and execute on multiple complex projects. Must have proven ability to stay focused on complex projects
  • Proven success working collaborative in small team and cross-cultural team environments
