Scientist 2, In Vivo Pharmacology

Pharmacology New York, New York

Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

The Scientist 2, In Vivo Pharmacology will play a pivotal role in the design and execution of complex in vivo studies to support the development of novel drug candidates be highly skilled in establishing animal models of disease and subsequently performing a range of studies assessing efficacy, pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamics, phenotyping and toxicology.

About You

You enjoy playing a pivotal role in the design and execution of in complex vivo studies to support the development of novel drug candidates. You enjoy working in a collaborative and dynamic environment, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge therapies and helping to shape the future of medicine.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently develop in vivo pharmacology studies to assess the PK, target engagement and therapeutic efficacy of candidate compounds. These studies may be performed in a variety of animal models of cancer, inflammatory disease or neurodegenerative disease, as dictated by target biology.
  • Independently perform in vivo experiments, including dosing, sample collection, and data analysis, while adhering to experimental protocols.
  • Work with Contract Research Organizations to execute complex PK/PD and efficacy/toxicology studies to expand the capabilities and throughput of the Pharmacology group.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, draw meaningful conclusions, and represent the Pharmacology group function while working closely with wider project teams and management to advance projects.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in pharmacology, biology, chemistry, and other departments to support integrated drug discovery efforts.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed experimental records and study reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
