Position Overview / Field Engineer Co-op Opportunity

As a Field Engineer (FE) intern, you will assist the project manager and project superintendent with the overall administration and coordination of one or more projects. You are responsible for project reporting, schedule updates, coordinating of materials and subcontractors. 


What you can expect to learn.

The Field Engineer Role encompasses:

  • Managing the project calendar, arranging meetings and reply to project correspondence.
  • Ensure project deliverables such as design documents, drawings, plans, etc. are completed, recorded, filed, and distributed to all relevant parties on time.
  • Perform frequent audit of work site to ensure that Health & Safety Requirements are being met.
  • Review and update project schedules, prepare look-ahead schedule to confirm projects are completed on time, and on budget
  • Assist Project Manager with monthly reporting
  • Attend Project meetings
  • Procurement processes: prepare quantity take-offs from contract and shop drawings
  • Maintain daily project log diaries
  • Ensuring that the project deliverables are in accordance with all applicable codes and quality standards
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with Client
  • Working with Project Management Software

 

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a career in Civil Engineering.
  • You have working knowledge of scheduling, and project management software
  • You work positively within a team to achieve a common goal of completion of the project
  • You come to work knowing that you are a key part of building new and exciting projects
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Outlook and other operational software
