ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a versatile and proactive QA Analyst to join our team, focusing on quality assurance for our desktop applications on both macOS and Windows, which give access to data stored in the cloud. In this role, you'll be a key player in ensuring product quality through a mix of deep data analysis, automation, and manual testing. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical skills to solve complex problems and directly influence the reliability of our products, used by thousands of users worldwide.
You'll work closely with developers and product owners in an agile environment, acting as a bridge between user feedback and technical solutions. Your work will involve not only finding bugs but also understanding their root causes by digging into data stored in the cloud and logs.
 
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Analyze and triage user-reported issues by examining application’s and operating system’s logs and data from tools like BigQuery and Kibana.
  • Develop and maintain our test automation framework in Python, helping us scale our testing efforts.
  • Develop test plans and perform tests for our desktop applications on both macOS and Windows, identifying and reporting bugs with detailed documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide insights into potential risks and dependencies, and propose solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes and tooling.
 
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIALS SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of software engineering or software quality assurance experience
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for problem investigation and solving
  • Knowledge of operating systems principles and experience in working with public clouds
  • Experience with data analysis and problem triaging using logs, with knowledge of tools such as Kibana, BigQuery, or similar.
  • Familiarity with test methodologies and the ability to create and execute effective test cases, with a strong preference for experience with desktop applications (macOS, Windows).
  • Practical knowledge of Python for test automation and scripting, including UI applications testing.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., HTTP, TLS) and understanding of REST API principles.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • A passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards improving product quality.
NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experience with continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
