SaaS Infrastructure Engineer

 

Overview

Edifecs is seeking a Infrastructure Engineer to join our SaaS Services team. This role involves managing infrastructure operations across multiple data centers, providing technical support to enterprise clients, handling complex troubleshooting and system configuration. The majority of supported infrastructure is within Edifecs-managed colocation facilities with a smaller footprint hosted at several AWS regions. You’ll collaborate with Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and DevOps teams at Edifecs to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions and a consistent, responsive customer experience. Responsibilities include architecting, provisioning, and maintaining infrastructure on which Edifecs applications are deployed, following standard procedures for service requests, incident management, and change control, while continuously improving your technical skills and meeting performance goals.


What you will do:

 

  • Design, deploy, configure, and administer infrastructure in a private (Edifecs-managed) cloud environment.
  • Support infrastructure technology selection, architecture, upgrade, and maintenance at two Edifecs-managed colocation facilities. Edifecs manages all servers, storage, databases, and network gear within our cages.
  • Provision scalable solutions using cloud-based services and tools in AWS to supplement Edifecs’ hosted solutions deployed outside of our private cloud facilities. 
  • Expect 75% of workload for this position will be managing infrastructure at Edifecs-managed data center (private cloud) & 25% supporting Edifecs-managed infrastructure at AWS (public cloud).
  • Assist and support the deployment, management, and operation of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems in both private and public cloud environments.
  • Work within the Edifecs SaaS Services organization with a high level of collaboration with Edifecs Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and DevOps stakeholders.
  • Manage private cloud infrastructure including VM/VMWare, various storage technologies, database servers, network components, F5 or similar load-balancer technology.
  • Manage AWS services, specifically, VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, EFS/EBS Volumes, ALB/NLB, and Security Groups.
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting skills and system performance analysis.
  • Identify, manage, and resolve infrastructure security risks and implement best practices to minimize the impact of security vulnerabilities.
  • Provide subject matter expert technical support to customers and internal support and engineering teams as needed.
  • Identify and document product bugs and feature requests and work with internal support teams, external providers, and customers to implement effective solutions.
  • Contribute to planning and implementation of disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another technology-related program or equivalent experience in implementing and operating Java stack-based enterprise applications.
  • 5+ years managing infrastructure in a private cloud/data center environment.
  • 5+ years of infrastructure management/systems engineer experience in a HOSTED/SaaS environment.
  • 5+ years of Windows/Linux administration.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting applications in AWS at an enterprise level - building solutions using AWS services such as EMR, RDS, Lambdas, SNS, SQS, S3, Redshift, etc
  • 2+ years of experience with Container and orchestration services like Kubernetes, Docker, etc as well as automation tools like CloudFormation/Terraform to deploy and manage cloud solutions.
  • Deployment and management of database servers & database clusters
  • Advanced understanding of network architecture and firewalls (Cisco).
  • Experience administering SFTP solutions.
  • Knowledge of monitoring solutions and response procedures. Experience with AWS monitoring and logging services.
  • Project-related skills. Able to manage simultaneous projects with aggressive deliverable dates and varying priorities.
  • Proficient understanding of scripting languages, and software and infrastructure automation skills.

Note: The expected base pay range for this position is $89,834-123,522 per year.
