SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $150,000

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

 

SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Production Automation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering and a passion for working on complex systems such as drones or consumer electronics. This role requires a solid foundation in engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Production Automation Engineer at Edge, you will assist in the design, development, and testing of systems and components for our innovative products. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure our system's successful integration and performance. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing test plans, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and processes. The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties

  • Develop production test solutions for in-house developed hardware and software
  • Write automation software to interact with units under test, test equipment, instrumentation, and production documentation systems
  • Work closely with and provide feedback to responsible design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to drive increased product reliability and yield  
  • Root-cause test failures to ensure issues are understood and develop and implement mitigations as part of a process of continuous improvement  
  • Perform calibration and maintenance on all test systems
  • Prepare test documentation including procedures, statements of work, change orders, and others
  • Train technicians and inspectors on test processes and equipment
  • Support the design and development of flight hardware to increase the level of design for testability and manufacturability

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or physics
  • 2+ years of experience with hardware development or electronics test engineering in a production environment
  • 2+ years of programming experience
  • Experience with test equipment and measurement techniques to verify and validate product requirements
  • Experience designing or testing PCBs
  • Experience with Python, C ++
  • Experience developing software or firmware to enable automated testing of electrical assemblies
  • Experience in implementing robust testing and validation processes for electrical assemblies
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and networking
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and electronics manufacturing
  • Understanding of metrology, sources of measurement error, and uncertainty analysis
  • Experience analyzing circuits and developing functional test plans
  • Understanding and experience in environmental testing such as vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in
