Technical Documentation Specialist

The Technical Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation for advanced UAS and related systems. The role involves close collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure that technical documentation is accurate, clear, up to date, and aligned with industry standards and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Create new product and service manuals, datasheets, technical bulletins, and other technical documentation using tools and systems utilized by Redwire.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and maintenance technicians to gather technical information and develop a clear understanding of product features, repair procedures, and maintenance requirements.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, accurate, and user-friendly content for various audiences.
• Perform regular updates, revisions, and amendments to existing product manuals and technical documentation.
• Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with applicable industry standards and company guidelines.
• Manage version control, documentation repositories, and publication processes.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor related to core job functions.

Skills & Qualifications: 

• Previous experience in technical writing, technical documentation, or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in technical communication, engineering, aviation, mechanical engineering, or another relevant technical field.
• Experience working with Web Manuals or similar technical documentation platforms is an advantage.
• Experience with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, is an advantage.
• Knowledge and understanding of maintenance manuals, repair procedures, and technical maintenance documentation is an advantage.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, specifications, engineering documentation, and other technical information.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineering, maintenance, production, and other cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience in aviation, UAS, aerospace, defense, or another technical industry is an advantage.
