SUMMARY

The Benefits Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's employee benefits programs with a strong focus on daily support for the onsite HR team. This role ensures compliance with regulations and provides guidance on benefits and leave management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

  • Daily Support: Act as the primary point of contact for the onsite HR team, providing immediate support and guidance on benefits and leave management issues.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage the day-to-day operations of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Leave Management: Oversee leave management programs, including FMLA, SDI, CFRA, PFL, and Workers' Compensation, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Employee Support: Assist employees with benefits enrollment, leave options, and claims, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • EDI Feed Management: Manage monthly EDI feeds for new hire enrollment confirmations of coverage and ensure timely processing of benefits data.
  • 401(k) Management: Oversee the distribution of 401(k) welcome emails to new employees and ensure compliance with retirement plan regulations.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations related to employee benefits and leave management, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, and others.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze benefits data and trends to recommend changes or improvements to current offerings and support budget planning.
  • Communication: Develop and deliver communication materials to educate employees and the HR team about benefits and leave options.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for HR staff on benefits programs, leave policies, and compliance requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in benefits administration or management, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits regulations, leave management, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
