SALARY RANGE: $130,000 - $230,000

SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled UAS Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical systems for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) or related aerospace. This role requires experience in system troubleshooting, incident investigation, top-level system design, and development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and subsystem requirements. The ideal candidate will have expertise in system architecture, trade studies, and selection of components, as well as leadership experience in engineering. This position demands a high level of autonomy and design authority to drive decisions on architecture and ensure quality and reliability in all UAS electrical systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
· Support incident investigation and system troubleshooting, providing technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
· Lead the development of top-level electrical system design, defining system architecture and guiding decisions on subsystem integration.
· Create and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and define subsystem requirements to ensure compatibility and performance across UAS platforms.
· Conduct trade studies, component selection, and design assessments to identify optimal solutions for UAS electrical systems.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-to-end integration of electrical components, ensuring system requirements are met.
· Demonstrate technical leadership by setting standards for system architecture and acting as a design authority for UAS electrical engineering projects.
· Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices in systems architecture, design, and reliability.
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
· B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar UAS related field
- Experience in supporting troubleshooting and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and defining subsystem requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct trade studies and make data-driven decisions on component selection.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systems.
- Proven experience in a design authority role, with the ability to make high-level design and architecture decisions.
- 5 years of experience in one or more of the following domains: Drones (UAS/UAV), Aerospace, Airborne ISR, or Defense System/Vehicle Design
- At least 5 years of experience and expertise in high-level system design and architecture for UAS electrical systems
- Background in industries involving complex engineering systems, such as Aerospace, Defense, or Uncrewed Aircraft Systems.
- Proven track record of working on projects related to airborne platforms or defense-related engineering initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on systems troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Leadership skills, with experience mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with CAD software for electrical design, such as Altium Designer, and experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Creating or maintaining products in production/factory environment
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing safety documentation and adhering to rigorous quality standards.
