SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 annually. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
SUMMARY
The FSO Compliance Manager will oversee the security compliance program at our aerospace and defense company. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all operations adhere to the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other applicable regulations. Your expertise in security compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management will be critical in safeguarding our sensitive information and maintaining our reputation as a trusted industry leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of the Facility Security Program (FSP) in alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related inquiries and investigations, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
- Train and educate employees on security policies, procedures, and best practices to foster a culture of compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of security measures.
- Manage the security clearance process for personnel, ensuring compliance with government regulations and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor and evaluate security incidents, providing timely reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports to regulatory authorities, ensuring timely compliance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes, incorporating them into security strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and industry partners to enhance security practices and compliance efforts.
- Provide leadership in developing security awareness programs and initiatives to promote a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant regulations, standards, and certifications.
- Prepare and present regular reports on security compliance performance, including key metrics and findings.
- Participate in industry conferences and events to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
- Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
- This position requires US citizenship and an active DOD Security Clearance.
- 5+ years of experience supporting DOD and IC security programs under the governance of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), ICDs, SEADs, and Executive Orders.
- Strong working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and applicable security regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.
- Associate’s Degree or Equivalent work experience may be used in place of a degree.
- Proficiency in DISS/NBIS/NISS/SWFT accounts.
- Proficient in report writing and incident response planning.
- Ability to travel occasionally to customer or government sites.
- Strong leadership skills, with the capability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high compliance standards.
- Proven track record of successful compliance management and risk mitigation.
- Experience in conducting security audits and assessments is desirable.
- Familiarity with security clearance processes and regulations is a plus.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad array of staff and stakeholders.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
This position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
