Community Relations Coordinator
Description
- Manages communication with multiple homeowners and subcontractors to efficiently coordinate work activities.
- Prioritize tasks and schedule activities with multiple stakeholders.
- Track and document communications through spreadsheets, checklists and reports.
- Respond to sensitive communication-related issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build loyalty and customer satisfaction.
- May prepare press releases and fact sheets and compose letters.
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
- Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- The ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance.
- Work Experience: 2-3 years in a similar role or a position requiring strong communication skills.
- Education: Associates degree in communications or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Knowledge and/or awareness of the Port Hope Area Initiative
- Knowledge of strategic communications concepts, principles, and methodologies including social media, content management systems, and multimedia software
- Advanced degree a plus.
- Preferably living in the local community.
