ECC is seeking candidates for an on-site (not remote) Treatment Plant Operator/Environmental Technician I position at the former Milan Army Ammunitions Plant in Milan, TN. This position is responsible for performing daily operational duties of multiple groundwater treatment facilities and assisting with the execution of technical field activities on environmental sites in accordance with Company standards, regulatory criteria, and contractual obligations. In this position, you will:
 
  • Perform daily operations at two groundwater treatment facilities
  • Perform operational duties, daily testing and record keeping as well as process control functions
  • Responsibilities also include regulatory and safety compliance
  • Assist with routine maintenance and facility grounds upkeep
  • Under direct supervision, implement relevant environmental and Operation & Maintenance manuals, reports and plans 
  • Report to the site and conduct field sampling and monitoring, take measurements and recordings, and perform other miscellaneous field support services as assigned 
  • Ability to respond during off-hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) on a rotating schedule to treatment plant alarm conditions 
  • Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes, building codes, national/ local standards, and company policies and SOPs 
  • Complete related documentation (field reports, logs, meeting minutes, online submittal sites), in a timely and accurate manner 
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
 
Requirements
  • Apply basic knowledge of relevant principles and tools, as directed

  • Communicate effectively by written and verbal means
  • Perform multiple concurrent tasks and meet timelines, as directed
  • Work well independently and as a team
  • One year of relative coursework or project experience in water treatment plant operations
  • Basic computer skills for operating treatment plants, accessing daily reports, send/receive emails, scan and email documents, etc.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED is required.  
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with operating a Water Treatment Facility or Environmental Field Activity support work experience.
  • Technical school, Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred 

ECC targeted base pay range for this position is $23 to $25 hourly.

Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
