ECC is seeking candidates for a Site Superintendent position near Cleaveland, OH for a project dealing with Hazardous, Toxic, Radioactive Waste. This project will start May 1st and be +/-12 months in duration. You will be working 4 – 10 workdays per week (Monday – Thursday). The Site Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring equipment operators, craft and labor personnel are sufficiently trained and qualified to execute assigned tasks. This position is primarily responsible for the implementation of field related policies, programs, and practices that support and advance the Company’s long-term business objectives. 
 
  • Coordinate with the project chemist, project engineer, and project geologist to prioritize field activities and identify task assignments.
  • Compliance with health and safety and quality control requirements as identified by functional officers
  • Assist and lead field sampling teams in achieving task requirements
  • Key implementers of field activities and tasks preparatory to field activities
  • Assist in identifying and performing general labor tasks to achieve project objectives under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Contribute methods of approach and identify solutions to logistical or operational challenges during mobilization, sampling, surveying, deconning, and general field operations
  • Assist in identifying task-specific equipment to achieve the objectives of a task.  When appropriate, operate the equipment as needed during mobilization, sampling, surveying, deconning, and general field operation
  • Assume the role of sample team lead to assist the quality control officer and health and safety officer in maintaining compliance with project work plans, standard operating procedures, and sound field practices while achieving project objectives
  • Participate in work planning and work package generation.
  • Ensure that necessary equipment, tools, material and personnel are identified.
  • Ensure that inspections, calibrations and QC measurements are complete and routinely performed as specified.
  • Routinely assess work activities to ensure tasks are performed in accordance with the requirements detailed in work packages.
  • Participate in readiness evaluations prior to initiation of work associated with a specific task and ensure all specified controls and requirements are implemented and enforced during task execution.
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
 
Requirements 
  • Proven ability to implement programs to address complex needs and problems
  • Ability to coordinate with staff on various task assignments and field activities
  • Knowledge of federal contracting regulations and requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of construction management experience, with a minimum of five years of similar experience on Hazardous, Toxic, Radioactive Waste (HTRW) cleanup or decontamination and decommissioning projects preferably involving radionuclides.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in management or supervision of construction crafts.
  • A minimum of one cost reimbursable contracting project (additional experience preferable) for a U.S. federal agency.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and guidance applicable to assigned tasks.
  • Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location with periodic travel home with project management approval.
  • Five years supervisory experience leading multi-disciplinary teams with experience managing schedule and budget for large construction projects
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field required.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field required
  • Experience with sampling, surveying, and deconning

 

ECC targeted base salary range for the Cleaveland OH area is $90,000 to $124,000 annually. 
Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
