Are YOU our next Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist - Quality Control?    
   
We’re looking for a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist - Quality Control to join our Core Lab team in Brampton, Ontario. You will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and implementation of the Chemistry Department’s Quality Control System and Quality Assurance Program. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.     
   
This is permanent, full-time position working 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

How YOU will make a difference:    
  • Establish and maintain a quality control program which is designed to monitor and evaluate the ongoing and overall quality of the total testing processes 
  • Gather and compile quality control data 
  • Review quality control data 
  • Compiles and prepares statistical data 
  • Inventory management of QC material 
  • Resource for staff regarding QC inquiries, corrective actions and technical issues 
  • Other QC related activities 
  • Manage proficiency testing (Binding Site, CAP, IQMH/Accreditation Canada) 
  • Identify and report incidents and non-conformities  
  • Accountabilities : 
  •   Quality Assurance/Quality Control (55%) 
  •   Department Resource (20%) 
  •   Testing (10%) 
  •   Troubleshooting instrumentation/Technical (5%) 
  •   Training/Continuing education (5%) 
  •   Supplies (5%) 
    
What YOU bring to the role:     
  • Minimum 2 years of direct work related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance 
  • Successful completion of an accredited MLT program 
  • CMLTO Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing 
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Chemistry 
  • Advanced Experience in all aspects of proficiency testing 
  • Working knowledge of EP Evaluator 
  • Proficient in Excel 
  • Previous experience as a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist or similar would be an asset 
  • Frequently required to work unsupervised with extensive independent judgement 
  • Provide consultation and technical support on non-routine issues as required 
  • Ability to perform under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to make independent decisions that directly impact the client, patient and the department

  • Repetitive fine motor movements of hands 
  • Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
