Are YOU our next Manager, Accounts Payable?  
 
The Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable department and processes, including the processing of invoices and payments, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls, and ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers.  This role involves leading a team of Accounts Payable Clerks, reviewing and approving payment runs, and resolving any discrepancies or issues with vendors.  The primary objective is to optimize the accounts payable process, improve efficiency, and support the organization’s financial health by managing cash flow effectively.

How YOU will make a difference: 
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process and ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and employee expense reports
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls to minimize risk and improve efficiency
  • Monitor and analyze accounts payable processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with other departments in the organization to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices
  • Develop, prepare and analyze accounts payable reports for management review
  • Manage relationships with key 3rd party payment processors
  • Review and provide first level approval for all bank transactions (e.g. wire transfers, transfers, tax and bill payments), ensuring that transactions have appropriate documentation and authorization
  • Contribute to and review the organizations cash flow and working capital forecasting
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Accounts Payable Clerks and Treasury Analyst to enhance performance
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned
 
 
What YOU bring to the role: 
 
  • 5+ years of progressive business experience in finance or accounting Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or a related major
  • CPA designation completed or in progress
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounts payable processes
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Self-motivated, proactive, self-starter, high attention to detail, flexible and adaptable
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented with ability to meet tight timelines when required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with ability to manage multiple projects and respond to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop trusted business partner relationships across the organization
  • Ability to respond to vendor, employee, and management needs in a timely manner
  • Highly proactive and motivated to succeed
  • Team player with an ability to interface effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers, leaders, and team members
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor direct reports, as well as in creating high performance and engaged teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions:  
  • Normal office environment within a broader laboratory Environment
  • Hybrid Role – minimum of 1 to 2 days per week in Brampton office expected
