Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Temporary Practice Management Specialist to join our team. This is a temporary position lasting six months and the work can be done fully remote.
 
The Practice Management team provides strategic and operational support to practice group leadership, as well as overseeing business development activities.  As a member of the practice management team, this position will support the practice managers, and the practice groups on initiatives that enhance business and strategic operations.

On a typical day you will:
  • Support the practice management team and practice group chairs in implementing strategic plan priorities of the practice group and the firm.
  • Attend practice group meetings, assist with financial report development and meeting materials, and provide general practice group operational support.
  • Support seminars, webinars, CLEs and events for assigned practice groups and liaise with the event planning team.  Support the practice management team on major events that require the practice management team to lead.
  • Provide general support to practice management team and attorneys in practice group operations.
  • Track and monitor practice group budgets under the direction of the practice management team.  Process budget requests.
  • Work with the marketing communications team to create, update and organize marketing collateral and related records as well as practice group’s blogs and social media platforms as necessary.
  • Provide support to practice management team on preparation of communications related to winning new work that will enhance the groups’ profile and reputation.
  • Assist with responses to Requests for Proposals involving significant practice group participation, complex pricing, and multiple relationship partners; assist with drafting informal pitches and proposals to support the business development efforts of the practice group.
  • Support the collection, storage, maintenance and distribution of lawyers’ experience.
  • Assist with additional projects as necessary.

  • 2+ years of law firm or professional services marketing is desired, or equivalent internship and education
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across all firm functions as well as with clients and other business contacts
  • Demonstrated writing ability and excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills are required
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and composed manner
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Products required, i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel; CRM technology a plus
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, ability to take ownership of projects, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also acting as part of a high-functioning team
  • College degree and demonstrated academic excellence is strongly preferred

Washington State    
The hourly range for this position in Washington is $39.49 to $45.13 pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Paid sick leave is accrued on a biweekly basis at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked. Temporary employees working at least 30 hours per week may be eligible for health insurance with an optional HSA, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, sick time, and an employee assistance program. 
   
California   
The hourly range for this position in Los Angeles and Culver City is $38.97 to $44.62. The hourly range for this position in San Francisco is $41.54 to $48.62 hourly. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Paid sick leave is accrued on a biweekly basis at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked. New York   
The hourly range for this position in New York City is $45.13 to $51.79 per hour. The hourly range for this position in Washington D.C. is $43.08 to $47.18 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Paid sick leave is accrued on a biweekly basis at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked.
