This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Knowledge Management Engineer to join our team in our Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C. offices.
This position offers the flexibility to be fully remote while working within reasonable commuting distance from any of our offices.
This position works closely with attorneys and legal staff across the Firm’s practices and draws upon their experience and knowledge of diverse matter types to support the use and adoption of Knowledge Management (KM) technologies, including the Microsoft 365 suite and new/emerging legal technologies such as document automation, intranets, extranets, and transaction management solutions. This position will also work closely with members of the firm’s Knowledge Management & Innovation team to support, design, and develop existing and new data tools that maximize the firm’s experience and matter data. In short, this person needs to see the big picture, but also have the technical skills to deliver solutions.

On a typical day you will:
- Create solutions with no-code or low-code tools to automate processes
- Engage in the testing, implementation, roll-out, adoption, use, and maintenance of practice technologies, including Microsoft 365 (particularly Teams and SharePoint Online), Litera Desktop, Foundation, DocuSign, NetDocuments, Contract Express, HighQ, HotDocs, Power Platform, and new technology platforms as introduced
- Consult with and advise lawyers, legal staff, and clients regarding the most effective use of technology across matter practices (e.g. options for closing workflows, automating tasks, the use of AI-enabled technologies)
- Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of new technologies
- Assist in the design and creation of in-house databases, intranet sites, dashboards, and workflows
- Analyze firm data to better understand trends and performance
- Design and implement integrations between systems
- Work with members of the KM&I department to ensure that content in KM&I systems meets Firm needs
- Develop automated document templates and support ongoing implementation, roll-out, updating, and use of automated templates in production
- Conduct KM&I systems orientation/training sessions for new legal personnel
- Troubleshoot and help triage KM&I technology system issues reported by users using ServiceNow

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $110,000 to $114,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
California
The annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $109,000 to $129,000; and in San Francisco is $134,000 to $156,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. New York
The annualized salary range for this position in New York City is $117,000 to $139,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. District of Columbia
The annualized salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $110,000 to $132,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
