The Senior Manager of Attorney Training and CLE Compliance is responsible for leading the strategic planning, design, and execution of attorney training initiatives across the firm, while ensuring firmwide compliance with all applicable Continuing Legal Education (CLE) regulations. This individual will partner with firm leadership, practice group leaders, and other stakeholders to assess training needs, develop programming, and maintain accreditation across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires a strong balance of state bar license compliance knowledge, continuing legal education strategy and design strategy, program development and management skills, and a demonstrated understanding of attorney engagement best practices.

On a typical day you will:
- Lead the design development and implementation of firmwide attorney training programs, including legal skills, people skills, business skills, and firm citizenship.
- Manage the daily operations of the CLE and attorney training teams. In close collaboration with the Senior Director of Talent Development and Training, oversee attorney training, bar dues, and CLE budgets.
- Manage the development and coordination of in-person and virtual workshops and training programs; assist with additional training programs at firm and practice group retreats, as requested.
- Consult and collaborate with practice group leaders and partners to design targeted training curricula for associates, counsel, and partners.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments, including talent acquisition, marketing, business development, practice management, DEI, pro bono and social impact, and IT to create focused and integrated training programs and initiatives
- Research and make recommendations regarding the use of and selection of outside consultants to tailor training programs to meet specific firm needs. Monitor industry trends and best practices in attorney training and contribute to development and implementation of best practices at DWT.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, data analysis, and KPIs; adjust programming based on trends and firm goals.
- Oversee the development of internal e-learning content and external CLE partnerships.
- Manage and oversee firm and attorney compliance with MCLE requirements in all relevant U.S. jurisdictions, including centralized tracking and firm payment of mandatory state bar dues in participating jurisdictions. Super CLE tracking, reporting, and accredited provider audit preparation.
- Maintain provider accreditation status and manage the CLE accreditation process for all in-house, live, on-demand, and third-party programs.
- Provide regular CLE status reports to firm leadership and ensure proactive communication of deadlines and requirements to attorneys.
Join us if you have:
- 8+ years of experience in attorney professional development with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior role.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- JD or advanced degree in adult learning or organizational development preferred.
- Proven ability to design and manage sophisticated training programs in a law firm setting.
- Expertise in CLE rules, accreditation, and tracking tools.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work with professionals throughout an organization, including partners, associates/counsel of all levels, marketing, business development, practice management, support staff, and IT/KM.
- High level of discretion, organization, and responsiveness.
- Self-motivated, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously and ethically in a professional manner.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CLE/LMS systems.

Washington State
The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $166,000 to $191,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
