This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in our Seattle office.
 
We offer a hybrid work engagement with four days of remote work, and one day in-office. 
 
This position prepares and manages a variety of tax projects for the Firm. This position requires strong technical and communication skills to coordinate with staff, partners and outside accountants to ensure timely, quality delivery of both simple and complex tax projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong tax background and be able to execute both simple and complex tax strategies.

On a typical day you will:
  • Prepare and Review Federal and State income tax returns, including Federal K-1s for our Partners. This will include working directly with our outside tax preparer, PWC
  • Prepare Personal Property Returns for Firm locations
  • Tax research, resolution and correspondence
  • Ensure accurate, timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Provide support on special tax projects, audits and initiatives
  • Assist with Firm Initiatives as necessary 
  • Coordinate the renewal of the partnership’s property and casualty, and other insurance policies including communicating with Office Administrators on claims issues and issuance of certificates

Join us if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in public accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
  • Strong computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform spreadsheet (basic and advanced) functions in MS Excel
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Research orientated with problem-solving skills
  • Superior attention to detail with strong organizational, analytical and planning skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with team in various levels
  • Flexible in dealing with change with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

Washington State  
The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $126,000 to $155,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program.  For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
