Description

The Drafter is responsible for preparing production ticket drawings and documents using computer-aided design (CAD). Including, developing CAD file based drawings, and details. The Drafter is responsible for the evaluation and inspection of customer shop drawings for practicality of design, accuracy of mathematical calculations, dimensional accuracy and conformity to production standards. In addition, the Drafter serves as a primary resource on various projects in producing production ticket drawings as required meeting business demand.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Examine customer shop drawing and architectural drawing details for calculations, clarity, tolerances and dimensional accuracy; for design, conformity and completeness.
  • Produce shop floor Tickets according to CAD operating system rules and guidelines for production standards, fabrication efficiency, assembly and installation.

  • Process drawings based on customer specifications
  • Process final customer drawings of fabricated units required to produce the finished product
  • Determine initial sink count, type and accessories
  • Determine estimated piece/material count and molding requirements and enter into the in-house order management system
  • Draw piece count onto drawings
  • Create Label drawings for prototypes of new and modified product designs to improve performance and reliability
  • Evaluate internal feedbacks on quality checked jobs to prevent field warranty issues
  • Perform quality checks and verify job CAD details of Mold and Cast drawings for prototypes for new and modified product designs to improve performance and reliability
  • Actively communicate with customers (via phone and email) to verify and confirm customer specifications, additional correspondence, product pre-release and pre-shipment concerns
  • Meet and/or exceed minimum Individual performance production and quality metric rate requirements and benchmarks.

 Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 – 2 years Drafting and Design experience with ability to read and interpret Architectural Design Drawings
  • Strong technical and mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of Drafting and Design systems, processes and operations
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed various quality and production performance ratings established
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office software programs and CAD systems
  • 1-3 years’ data entry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math functions including conversion of fractions/decimals and metric/English units
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate working relationships with key customers, sales representatives and other company associates at all levels
  • Ability to meet or exceed Production and Quality Performance Rates
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work within a team environment

Educational/Training/Experience:

  • High School Degree and/or vocational education in Engineering, Drafting, CAD, or equivalent
  • Thorough working knowledge of CAD Standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours
  • Ability to sit and keyboard for extended periods of time
