Mold Repair Technician

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform simple refinishing of production molds as necessary including use of Scotch Brite pads, padding mold, or using putty knife to clean rails of any loose contaminants
  • Perform extensive refinishing of mold surface for more severe defects in mold repair shop
  • Prepare new molds for production using sandpaper, Scotch Brite pads or electric sander
  • Notify Casting Manager and/or Casting Supervisor of any mold conditions that cannot be repaired
  • Use company vehicle to pick up or deliver production molds to and from offsite locations
    Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Ability to demonstrate comprehension of positional work instructions
  • Attention to detail
  • Mechanical inclination
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate with hourly employees and management personnel
  • Ability to operate stand up or sit down fork truck and become certified
  • Able to work overtime including weekends
  • Must have valid TX Driver license and be insurable

EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 6 months work experience
Preferably 6 months experience of finishing molds

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand, move, and bend for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
