Functional Safety Engineer

Dura’s Functional Safety Engineer is a key contributor in ensuring product safety for our customers. The engineer will apply ISO 26262 “Road Vehicles – Functional Safety” in a multidisciplinary engineering team that is developing of state of the art HMI shifters, actuation modules, and structures with embedded electronics. Core responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop the safety analysis and strategy at the system, hardware, and software level.   
  • Ensure that safety plan activities meet program timing.
  • Align safety related topics with suppliers and customers.
  • Determine and analyze safety requirements
  • Create the Functional and Technical Safety Concepts (FSC and TSC).
  • Perform the necessary safety analyses (e.g., FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA).
  • Define the required tests for the verification and validation of the safety requirements.
  • Create the Safety Case.
