About the Role:
As a Rehab Miner at Dumas, you will perform rehabilitation work in underground headings to restore and maintain safe conditions. This includes repairing ground support, installing services, and operating hand-held and mechanized equipment in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate jackleg and stoper drills for rehabilitation tasks.
- Install and repair ground support (bolts, mesh, screen) in rehab headings.
- Remove loose rock and ensure safe workplace conditions.
- Support development duties as required (e.g., installing services, scaling).
- Perform pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting all issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet all targets.
- Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
Qualifications:
- Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core with required specialty modules.
- Minimum 2–3 years underground mining experience, preferably in rehab work.
- Proficiency with jackleg and stoper drills; MacLean equipment experience is an asset.
- Strong safety record and ability to work in confined spaces.
- Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
