We are currently seeking an Electricity Market Optimization Engineer to join our Data Science team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing sector.   

  

Enverus is seeking an engineer with optimization modelling expertise, and with a successful track record of accurately solving high-level problems by using mathematical modelling, optimization, and statistical analysis. You will be supported by a strong technical team of engineers and will help build ambitious products for the power sector.  

  

Performance Objectives  

  • Design, develop, and implement models for existing or new services focused on power markets 
  • Collaborate with software engineers to operationalize and maintain models. 
  • Gather, vet, and analyse data from diverse public and private sources. 
  • Deploy production-grade code. 

  

Competitive Candidate Profile  

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; Master’s/PhD preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in power markets focused work. 
  • Proficiency in operations research theories: linear, nonlinear, and integer programming. 
  • Knowledge of optimization modelling languages and solvers, particularly CPLEX and Pyomo. 
  • Experience with unit commitment & dispatch algorithms and leveraging DC power flow equations. 
  • Ability to work with large datasets using modern data lake solutions. 
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, especially Python, and deploying production-grade code. 
  • High energy, attention to detail, self-motivation, innovation, and strong teamwork skills in a diverse environment. 

  

 
 

This role is eligible for: Variable Compensation

Salary Range: 140,000 + bonus
