Senior Pre-Sales Consultant - Pricing Analyst - Energy or Commodities

We are actively seeking a dynamic Senior Pre-Sales Consultant with expertise in energy and commodity markets, with specific experience in market data, to be a pivotal member of our Sales team. As a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant, you will work closely with diverse internal teams, including Sales, Product Management, Professional Services, and Business Development, as well as our extensive Partner network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic collaborator across various internal units, including Sales, Product Management, Professional Services, Business Development, and our Partner ecosystem.
  • Provide deep-dive domain expertise during customer discovery workshops and execute industry-specific demos.
  • Develop and deliver sales engagement collateral, including Proof of Concept workshops and demos.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by offering extensive industry knowledge and workflow insights to clients, ensuring delivery of superior results aligned with their strategic objectives.
  • Display thought leadership and process expertise both internally and to clients through insightful sales presentations and product demonstrations.

Performance Objectives

  • Masterfully map and align our solution offerings with customer needs, capturing holistic requirements and devising effective solutions.
  • Lead customer-facing proof-of-value sales demonstrations and exercises, including data assessments and proof of concepts.
  • Provide timely and detailed responses to customer inquiries and facilitate alignment across customer, product management, and professional services.
  • Offer field insight and feedback to Product Management for continuous product improvement.
  • Provide accurate and up to date sales notes and funnel management.


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, with roles such as Price Data Analyst, Trading Analyst, Risk Analyst, or Risk Manager in energy or commodity sectors, or worked in the energy and commodities practice of an established consulting firm.
  • Previous Pre-Sales experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Java-based languages; Python experience is a plus.
  • Direct experience with market data types, including Published, Exchange, and Broker Data.
  • Familiarity with basic risk management reporting like PnL, MtM, and Risk Decomposition.
  • Knowledge of ETRM systems like OpenLink Endur, TriplePoint CXL, Allegro, Aligne, Aspect, or Eka would be beneficial.

Physical Demands and Travel

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment, with up to 50% travel as required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory.
