We are currently seeking a highly driven Sr Accountant to join our Finance Team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing sector.
  
 
Essential Functions/Responsibilities 
  • Responsibility for the general accounting for Enverus Spanish entities, both for statutory purposes and Enverus group purposes.  
  • Treasury experience essential – working with bank accounts, initiating payments, managing cashflows.  
  • Comparison of group revenue to local revenue accounting, including intra-group recharges, where required.  
  • Prepares and presents financial analyses of monthly results and comparisons to prior months, investigating where necessary. 
  • Prepares and presents projections for future expenditure, liaising with group FP&A department. 
  • Monitors expenditure budgets, and makes appropriate decisions. 
  • Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Leads annual audit preparations, including statutory audit, R&D audit and any ad-hoc audits. 
  • Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Reviews Corporate tax returns, IVA returns, IRPF returns, and communicates with external advisors, where required.  
  • Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Trains teammates and colleagues on best-practice accounting processes and functions. 
  • Liaising with the Office Manager regarding corporate card expenditure, facilities, procurement requirements.
  • Performs other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
  • Extensive payroll reviews with our third party provider. Prior payroll-related experience advantageous.  
 
Required Work Experience and Education
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a three or four-year college or university
  • Proficient in English and Spanish
 
Role Competencies and Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel – prior knowledge of pivot tables, formulas, look-up tables an advantage.  
  • Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
  • Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision; although support will always be available.  
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish tax laws and GAAP. Exposure to US GAAP an advantage, but not necessary 
  • Advanced financial analysis skills.
