We are currently seeking a highly driven Compliance Associate to join our Legal team. Performance Objectives 

  • Assist in the capture and retention of all required certifications, acknowledgments, reporting, and similar documentation required for an SEC registered investment adviser.
  • Assist in managing privacy and data protection policies and procedures, including monitoring data processing activities and ensuring adherence to applicable law and agreements.
  • Maintain records of compliance approvals for research reports, marketing, advertising etc.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of updated Policies and Procedures and Training Programs for the department.
  • Monitor internal compliance systems to ensure or improve the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance operations.
  • Implement and record activities under policies and procedures set forth in Business Code of Conduct, Compliance Manual, Code of Ethics, and other policies, including employee trainings, attestations, personal securities reporting, electronic communication monitoring, protection of MNPI, books and records retention, etc.
  • Promote privacy and data protection practices across business units.
  • Ensure the effective operation of compliance policies and procedures and escalate any issues to senior Compliance staff that need to be addressed.
  • Participate in periodic compliance training for all employees and new hires. Assist in responding to client questionnaires.

  

Competitive Candidate Profile 

  • Bachelor's degree from a three or four-year college or university
  • 3 - 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Works independently with general supervision.
  • Applies knowledge of government regulations and privacy laws, typically obtained through work experience such as the U.S. Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and its rules, GDPR and CCPA.
  • Develops and implements processes, standards, or procedures efficiently and effectively to achieve compliance program goals.
  • Masters policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to strictly maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented
