Position summary

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will oversee, manage, and support accounting and financial interfaces including operational system interfaces and banking interfaces between JDE and other applications. You will also act as key Finance contact for operational issues including troubleshooting, investigating, monitoring, and resolving operational system issues as they relate to financial transactions and information in a timely manner, working with 3rd party vendors as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure data integrity, internal controls and audit trails are maintained throughout all applications, including system reconciliation – JDE to Cognos, JDE to Exceedra, JDE to TM1, CASS to JDE, AR to GL, AP to GL etc.
  • Perform system checks for unposted batches, unprocessed bank statements, unprocessed EDI remittances etc. and resolve successfully
  • Ensure EDI remittance advices are being received correctly in to JDE from customers
  • Administration / control of system user access to core finance systems
  • Monitor & resolve issues, queries and requests
  • Ensure accuracy of master data impacting finance
  • Assist IT group with system implementations, enhancements and releases
  • Gather end user requirements, write test scripts and performing testing of solutions
  • Work with various Finance stakeholders to identify areas for process improvements
  • Assist in report design
  • Handle and administration of application security, setup, configuration
  • Work with outside consultants and application developers on customization and modifications to the existing systems
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required
  • Lead demos of new system processes
  • Create documentation supporting new system processes or functionalities

Experience and Education Requirements

  • University degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a Financial Systems function
  • Strong Working knowledge of JD Edwards finance and accounting modules
  • Good general knowledge of accounting activities related to general ledger, financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, project accounting and asset management
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with end users, managers, and controllers
  • Ability to write clear, concise functional requirements documents

Preferred Experience

  • University degree in Information Systems or related area
  • Experience managing projects (minimum 3+ people and 1+ months duration)
  • Experience documenting process and making process improvement recommendations
  • Experience leading user training
