PSM Coordinator

  1. Ensure all elements of the PSM/RM Program are clearly defined, accurate and current.
  2. Ensure process hazard analysis re-validations are conducted every five years, track performance of eliminating identified hazards, and keep management updated.
  3. Ensure process compliance audits are conducted every three years, track performance of eliminating identified gaps, and keep management updated.
  4. Ensure standard operating procedures are written and up to date for all applicable tasks and ensure operators have read and understand these procedures.
  5. Ensure training requirements for ammonia operators are established and followed, assist in training as needed.
  6. Ensure mechanical integrity of the ammonia system is being followed as defined in the RMP/PSM Program.
  7. Ensure that a Management of Change (MOC) is properly filled out and approved before any ammonia related mechanical work is performed on the plant ammonia system.
  8. Complete pre-startup safety reviews prior to ammonia being applied back to an area that has been repaired or modified.
  9. 9 Stay abreast of any changes in regulations, both nationally and regionally. Implement changes as necessary.
  10. Ensure the plant is following all applicable regulations as they pertain to ammonia.
  11. Ensure incident investigations are performed for all ammonia incidents and near misses. Keep accurate record of investigation reports and ensure corrective actions are tracked and completed in a timely manner.
  12. Ensure all ammonia operator/mechanics are actively involved in all aspects of RMP and PSM.
  13. Ensure all contractors have the proper qualification to work on and near ammonia systems in the plant.
  14. Ensure the emergency planning and response plan as it pertains to ammonia incidents is accurate and useful. Also, work with SHE and local emergency response team and conduct a minimum of one full-scale ammonia drill per year with the local response team and another drill with plant employees.
  15. Prepare all documentation for submission to Federal, State, and local agencies for approval by plant and corporate personnel.
  16. Perform various other duties as directed by the Utilities System Manager, to include assistance with other departmental issues


  1. Plan all Predictive, Preventive, and Condition Based Maintenance, in conjunction with the sites production and operational plan including resource (mechanic, operators, parts, equipment) availability to effectively and efficiently execute activities in a coordinated way. Help prioritize and escalate as necessary critical works.
  2. Manage CMMS Data including ensuring that appropriate information, including FLOC, BOM's, PM's, etc. are entered into the CMMS system when a modification, improvement, or addition is made to manufacturing, utilities, and/or other support area equipment.
  3. Monitor work order backlog; schedule backlog work in a timely manner to maintain a reasonable level.
  4. Monitor/audit Mechanic data entry and quality into SAP/AMM system. Provide support and training as required to ensure meaningful and comprehensive information is available.
  5. Evaluate all notifications, working with Maintenance Manager and Mechanics. Convert to Work Orders or provide feedback to requestors as appropriate.
  6. Monitor Workorder Completion, Backlog, and Schedule Compliance to ensure health of maintenance systems.
  7. Drive continuous improvement projects related to maintenance as assigned by working with operations and engineering alike.
  8. Generate and distribute KPI, and trend analysis and CMMS reports


  1. Requires a high level of motivation and self management.
  2. Review of overall work priority and progress through weekly meetings with detailed review as required. Periodic review through monthly status reports and personal review annually.
  3. Reports directly to Maintenance Manager or Facilities Engineer & Maintenance Manager.
  4. Proactively looking for areas of improvement and to adopt techniques and practices that ensure that there is a quality environment in production.
  5. Ensure that health and safety requirements are fully met and a positive safety culture is maintained throughout the factory.
  6. Ensure that you walk the talk and use the "looking eyes", attend to the issues as and when they happen. The daily site walk must deliver a clean tidy site all over.
  7. Ensure that you are the focal point for the team.
  8. Promote the Froneri culture of employees being owners rather than just employees.
  9. To ensure the use of other group resources to ensure synergies are carried through, driving knowledge and issues to be shared.


  1. Engineering stock is accurate and is kept at a controlled value, at the same time ensuring critical spares are available.
  2. Risk assessment of all critical spares.
  3. Know what has been used and ordered daily.
  4. Create links with other sites where feasible to not duplicate stores stock.
  5. Ensure redundant stock does not build up.

Maintenance Tasks

  1. Ensure the maintenance plan has purpose and evolves to allow the maximum time available for production, no strip and rebuild for the sake of it! Only replace worn/ broken parts condition based rather than planned based maintenance.
  2. Drive the tasks through required work from observations and data, not just theoretical plans.
  3. Full evaluation of, cost, availability and requirement to decide if run to failure or replace.
  4. Maintenance always follows production, not the other way around.
  5. Ensure that maintenance tasks adhere to company's food safety polices at all times.
  6. Ensure all working practices comply with company rules and procedures in order that you and any other persons using the area of work can do so safely.
  7. Always keep full and up to date records of all equipment to ensure traceability
