1. General Description: This position coordinates and supervises Maintenance Technicians based on daily support to entire site, outstanding work orders, and special/emergency requests in accordance with individual Technician’s skills and abilities. Maintain sound communication with MRO to ensure needed maintenance parts, equipment inventory reports are correct, and calculate minimum reorder levels. Compile maintenance reports such as downtime, work orders, preventative maintenance schedule, etc.. These activities are carried out to ensure management information is available in a timely and accurate manner, and to assist in scheduling daily maintenance activities in an optimum manner.


2. Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

2.1. Safety

2.1.4. Conduct weekly safety meetings

2.2.1. Comply with the Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined by the plant Quality department
2.2.2. Actively participate in preventing and correcting quality related errors

2.3. Plant Citizenship and Interactions (Grooves)
2.3.1. Communicate and interact with others in a manner consistent with the company’s “Grooves” and “I Can Make A Difference Philosophies”.
2.3.2. Initiate, organize, and actively participate in team meetings, committees and task forces.
2.3.3. Exceed expectation with regard to attendance and other guidelines.

2.4. Operational
2.4.1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of Maintenance Technicians daily based on production schedule
2.4.2. Review work orders and preventative maintenance needs, taking into account such factors as priority, production schedules, and material/parts availability. Assign Technicians based on skills required.
2.4.3. Assign Maintenance Technicians in response to request from production, recognizing the areas requiring immediate response to prevent downtime.
2.4.4. Review downtime recap sheets on a daily basis and discuss with the Technicians where improvements can be made
2.4.5. Develop and distribute Preventative Maintenance schedules for equipment. Continuously re-evaluate PM schedules for optimal efficiency
2.4.6. Ensure work order assignments are completed in a timely manner
2.4.7. Develop work schedules to utilize Maintenance skills and personnel availability
2.4.8. Review requisitions with requesting Maintenance staff before signing to ensure every dollar spent is justified in the budget
2.4.9. Work on system-wide Maintenance network team to ensure coordination of activities, plans, problem-solving, and other plant wide issues
2.4.10. Participate in planning, scheduling, and supporting weekend coverage rotation as necessary
2.4.11. Develop and implement skill building plans for individuals and the department, including standard operating procedures


2.5. Specifications:
2.5.1. Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of Utilities/Facilities/Production equipment
2.5.2. Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred

2.6. Competencies/Skills/Knowledge:
2.6.1. PC proficiency as well as excellent organizational and communication skills are a must
2.6.2. Ability to develop a strong maintenance team in a high performing environment
2.6.3. Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
2.6.4. Knowledge in automatic controls is desired
2.6.5. Project management experience
2.6.6. Planning, scheduling, and budgeting experience
2.6.7. CMMS/work order experience
