Main Purpose of the Role:

Provide the leadership necessary to establish and maintain Safety, Health, and Environmental aspects of products through overall functional accountability for SH&E performance for the sites, and supporting Policies and influencing overall HS&E Strategy across the company. Provides functional leadership for all aspects of SH&E for all activities of the two manufacturing sites (Bakersfield and Tulare, approximately 1100 employees total). Promotes SH&E values and creates ownership and engagement at all levels, from unit management team to frontline staff. Leads a network of SH&E professionals, champions, and subject matter experts, and guides provision for SH&E services. Provides technical expertise and support to ensure compliance to OSHA regulatory requirements and Federal, State, and County Environmental Regulations.



  • Develop high safety and environmental standards and ownership across our value chain
  • Lead by example to carry out all duties and specific responsibilities in compliance with Safety, Health & Environmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Promote the culture change towards behavioral Safety, Health, and Environmental improvements
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Direct and supervise the development, implementation, and administration of Safety and Environmental activities in all phases of production at factory level
  • Report all safety, Health and Environmental information and KPIs in the Daily Factory Review Meeting
  • Drive improvements and monitor Safety and Environmental Metrics/KPIs at the facility
  • Monitor and assess performance of the safety and environmental systems, report its effectiveness to management, and implement actions for improvement
  • Ensure compliance of all Federal and State Safety regulations (OSHA)
  • Ensure managers receive trusted guidance and support on relevant SH&E matters. Identify expertise and good practices from inside and outside and communicate them internally, both within the site and total organization.
  • Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results used to drive further improvement. Promote effective communication of successes and learnings, and recognition for strong performers and contributors.
  • Ensure coaching and training is provided to managers and team leaders to help them take ownership and lead and manager SH&E within their area of responsibility. Provide personal coaching and support to the Site/Unit management team

Levels of Responsibility:

  • Deploy Safety, Health and Environmental standards
  • Achieve SH&E targets defined at market level
  • Manage workplace injuries to ensure employees receive proper treatment and return as soon as available
  • Manage all Factory Waste Disposal

Requirements and experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Health and Safety and Environmental roles in a manufacturing or warehousing environment. Veterans encouraged.
  • Education or experience equivalent in Health and Safety
  • Familiarity with Cal Osha requirements and specifics
  • English required, Spanish an asset
