Position Summary

The Senior Tax Analyst will help support efforts to design and build the internal Tax Team as the Dreyer’s organization transitions into the Froneri structure. This role will work closely with the broader Finance Team to build a strong foundation ensuring compliance and sustainability of tax practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support Finance/Tax Team in establishing the tax function and handle the day-to-day operations of the tax department
  • Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns including working papers
  • Prepare working papers for annual property tax returns
  • Prepare working papers for annual corporate Federal and state income tax returns
  • Prepare and file annual business license renewals for states, cities and counties as required
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries of tax accounts
  • Support the monthly close and ensure that it is completed correctly and timely
  • Work with the Tax Manager on direct and indirect tax audits include working with the tax authorities and providing response for notices
  • Work with external service providers in preparation of income, sales and use tax, and property tax returns
  • Implement efficiencies – process and technology
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Accounting or Finance degree
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant tax accounting experience
  • Experience with SAP and/or JDE a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software; proficiency in Excel a must
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced role
  • Must be a problem solver, adaptable, a team player, detail oriented, and an excellent communicator (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines required
