Warehouse Lead

The Warehouse Lead position’s primary function is maximize the selection and loading process of Nestlé products by ensuring accurate orders, meeting set target rates per hour, and ensuring product integrity and quality standards are maintained throughout the loading process. The role is responsible for using various inventory and tracking systems, as well as recognizing waste and adjusting execution accordingly. In addition, the role is also expected to serve as communication liaison between local leadership and the teams to ensure issues, goals and changes are communicated effectively


  • Ability to perform all Warehouse Level I and II responsibilities, including Level III (if applicable)
  • Safely operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) during work stream processes of order selecting and loading. Complete and maintain internal forklift certification process. 
  • Ability to utilize the Voice Activated Picking system. Accurately and efficiently load finished product onto delivery trucks while also maintaining accurate quality inspection forms.
  • Prepare all required documentation to maintain the highest quality finished product for our customers
  • Maintain performance expectations with respect to key performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve distribution center operations
  • Must be able to recognize waste (wasted labor, time, moves, product, etc.) within the distribution center, adjust accordingly and aid with developing action plans to drive continues improvement.
  • Use inventory and tracking systems, including: IMREX (Wave Control, Replenishment, Stock Moves, Inventory adjustments) and SAP (Dock & Yard, Transportation Planning, D-note creation, etc.). 
  • Actively and effectively lead the Shift Hand Off (SHO) process and look at leading indicators to make sure the distribution center wins daily. 
  • Schedule receiving appointments for inbound materials, prepare crew schedules and make work assignments to accomplish daily tasks, ensure completion of Master Sanitation Schedule tasks, provide job training (forklift safe operation, inventory control, qualified receiving, warehouse put-away and set-up, etc.). Oversee and/or assist inventory control and dock administrator with preparing daily work for the order selectors. 
  • Assist management with scheduling and staffing personnel, creating team development plans and effectively communicating with team, and providing performance feedback. Support the direction provided by management through active facilitation of meetings and follow through on action plans and goals. 
  • Understand Nestle Quality Management System (NQMS) to understand how responsibilities ensure that the consumer receives a quality and safe product at all times. Understand, support and consistently apply policies, procedures and programs related to quality systems, human safety, food safety, total preventative maintenance (TPM'S) and personnel.
  • Actively participate in Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) including participation on special Continuous Improvement Team (CI) or projects, Shift Operation Review (SOR) and Monthly Operational Review (MOR) process, identify leading indicators to ensure the distribution center hits their weekly, monthly and yearly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. 
  • Liaison between frontline employees and management. Address any issues and concerns with management. 
  • Communicate directly with co-workers on issues, openly share ideas with others, encourage performance in others, give feedback when needed, and train new employees when applicable. Effective communication to operations and sales teams to maintain product flow and prevent distribution disruptions. Recognize and encourage team to build positive moral. 
  • Conduct activities in a safe manner, follow corporate safety guidelines and requirements, use personal protective equipment and proactively address any unsafe conditions observed. Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance, inspection ready at all times

  • 0ne to three (1-3) years of related experience preferred.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preferred Associates Degree in Business or have matching experience in Warehouse Department. Must possess basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP; IMREX skills desired. Previous Warehouse Specialist Experience preferred
