Nestlé USA has reached an agreement to contribute its U.S. ice cream business to Froneri, a  joint  venture  between  Nestlé  S.A.  and  private  equity  firm  PAI  Partners. Froneri  is  a  pure-play  ice cream company with a winning market share in Europe, and one of the largest ice cream companies in the world. The company is present in over 20 countries and has more than 10,000 employees. In 2018, Froneri generated revenue worth roughly 2.9 billion USD. As a result of the change, this role will transition to Froneri’s organization once the transaction is closed (expected Q1 2020). MAJOR DUTIES,RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Store and deliver all materials to the Production Lines in a safe and efficient manner.

  2. Make cost effective decisions in a timely manner. This includes quality, safety, speed, and waste.

  3. Have the computer skills and aptitude to operate various warehouse management systems (SAP and RF) spreadsheets, word-processing documents, etc.

  4. Properly fill out all paperwork needed for operations.

  5. Ensure that all packaging and raw materials are properly rotated on a First In First Out (FIFO) basis.

  6. Verify Lot Control and FIFO is used for all floor deliveries and returns.

  7. Ensure that partial pallets are delivered to the line first to prevent multiple partial pallets of the same resource.

  8. Maintain good housekeeping in all Dry Warehouse storage, receiving, and tempering areas (includes ambient and frozen receiving docks, ambient, 40 degree and -20 warehouse locations, flammable rooms, tempering and hot box areas, all staging areas and pallet transfer areas) forklifts, work carts, stretch wrap machines, conveyors, dock and floors.  

  9. Keep rack locations safe and usable, restacking or uprighting any tipped pallets in racking.  Always maintain safety requirements such as wearing fall protection harness and keep waste to a minimum

  10. Collect, sort and organize pallets from Dry Warehouse.  Good pallets should be saved for Palletizing and bad pallets should be placed on bad pallet trailer.

  11. Monitor the availability and usage of plastic pallets to ensure that product is not setup on plastic pallets too far in advance.  When return to stock product is received in the warehouse minimize the number of plastic pallets that are returned to the racks.

  12. Safely transfer pallets from wood to plastic using the Pallet Transfer System and/or forklifts

  13. Be certified on safe operation of all Material Handling Equipment.

  14. Act with a sense of urgency to accomplish goals and tasks.

  15. Know and understand department metrics of quality, reliability and safety.

  16. You are responsible for your performance, efficiencies, waste, quality, safety, results.

  17. Lead Pre-Shift meetings as necessary and conduct SHOs

  18. Ensure SHO Boards are current and up to date
  19. Understand NCE, Goal Alignment, GLOBE and SAP
  20. Demonstrate that you can perform the essential job functions of Warehouse 2 proficiently.

  21. May participate in committees, improvement teams, and operational meetings  as business need dictates

  22. Ability to problem solve through use of Go-See-Think-Do and DMAIC projects as assigned

  23. Consistently comply with all GMP/HACCP/QMS and product safety regulations

  24. Stay focused at all times! Make timely decisions. Find root cause and solution to problems.

  25. Communicate with team and coach. Keep them informed of any issues.

  26. Perform other job duties as assigned  and Train others as assigned

Position Qualifications:

 

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules
  • Forklift operation and general warehouse distribution skills (preferred)
  • One year related experience (preferred)

Physical Demands:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is required to stand; use hands to finger; handle objects, tools, or controls; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell; and talk or hear.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and depending on the area assigned may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:

 

In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a cold environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, and electrical, equipment. The work is moderately-paced.
