Ice Cream Maker II In-Module


Job Purpose Statement:


An Ice Cream Maker II In-Module will report directly with the Supervisor Production to meet production results and goals. This position is responsible for operating, cleaning, and providing general maintenance and upkeep for a variety of equipment as well as continuous improvement, SHO Board Health, and TPM Growth among the team. These functions include a variety of duties and responsibilities that are directly, or indirectly, linked to the safest production of the highest quality ice cream products possible. This opportunity exists to learn different aspects of the business as well as personal development opportunities.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Fully responsible for SHO board development to include plant board standard, losses identified and updated, a balance of green/red results on measures (API), ensure all operators can talk to their losses and why those measures will drive an improvement, responsible for ensuring timely actions to close all gaps, and escalate to Supervisor when compliance cannot be met with an official escalation card.
  • Responsible for SHO Board Health and initiating contributor analysis as losses dictate or no longer than the end of each quarter.       This includes updating the measures with either a new measure or a more aggressive goal along with the standard that supports this measure.
  • Initiates Go See, Think, Do for triggers and ensures completion of Go See, Think, Do countermeasures. Also responsible to escalate to Supervisor if there are no triggers on their measures.
  • Partners with their Supervisor to ensure the line/area has a TPM implementation plan in accordance with the plant OMP step progression. Responsible for the implementation plan completed on time written specifically for the line/area.
  • Ensure TPM Step Progression for the implementation plan written specifically for the line.
  • Ensure timely closure of IDP actions for themselves and for the team and requests to Supervisor when dates need changed.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of top priority measures for the line.
  • Ensure the highest quality product by performing all required procedures, quality checks and documentation to meet specifications for team. Is responsible for identifying HACCP/OPRP and other paperwork gaps and correcting before the end of their shift.
  • Measure and monitor critical control points and make appropriate process changes to keep process running in control.
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Communicate with upstream and downstream operations to maintain process flow and prevent production disruptions.
  • Maintain continuous communication with shift supervisor and team and escalate issues appropriately and timely.
  • Disassemble, clean/sanitize and reassemble all required equipment and ensure SOP and SSOP are executed correctly by team.
  • Ensure Standards, SOP’s, SSOP’s, and lead creation of standards for their line/area are followed.
  • Maintain housekeeping and sanitation including performing CIP/COP hookups.
  • Set up, maintain, monitor, and adjust equipment as necessary to maintain product, quality, and safety specifications.
  • Conduct required quality checks on product.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Position Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One year related experience.
  • Must become GSTD certified.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and depending on the area assigned may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast-paced.
