MAIN PURPOSE

To achieve the best procurement for Laurel, maintaining service and quality. Looking for new ideas and opportunities and communicating across relevant departments. The main interface between suppliers and the business on price and service relationship.

ROLE AND ACTIVITY

• Supplier negotiation.
• Agreeing and managing contracts
• Working with R&D team sourcing and costing materials for product briefs, creating a preferred supplier list. The buyer is the only interface for the pricing with the supplier.
• Liaising and managing new contracts with Supply Chain team
• Keeping up to date with current markets, influences, and opportunities
• Looking for new product ideas, liaising with R&D.
• Awareness of commercial impact on finished products of all materials.
• Improving product margins
• Giving Froneri a competitive edge
• Ensuring we get the best price in the market using should cost method.
• Gathering local market information and sharing in the group.
• Prices correct on ERP systems
• Adheres and respects global purchasing training.
• Promote the Froneri culture of treating the business as yours.
• Always have quality in mind & management of supplier audits
• Tidy desk policy and clean areas

MEASURABLE OUTCOMES

• Positive buying price variance
• Contracts database available.
• Check and sign off product costings that meet business needs of expected margin. Control the number of new materials, and suppliers managing NPD by staying close to new projects
• Supply chain department has the necessary contracts and agreements in place to operate.
• Know prices and current markets.
• Attend R&D meetings and weekly group buying KPI meetings.
• Attends factory daily review meeting.
• Effective Shop floor presence & talking to the line leaders about issues and supplier performance affecting them.
• Can generate costs and recipe awareness.
• Drive actions from quality benchmarking sessions

• Provide supply chain costs for NPD for new products & making sure that the scale and complexity are fit for purpose in the factory.
• Packaging & ingredient specifications are maintained supporting the Quality department
• Product costings same from initial brief to final sign off.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in Suppy Chain preferred
  • 2+ years equivalent work experience required

SKILLS:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Excellent analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
