Position summary:

This is a new product development based technical role providing direction for and execution of projects across the US ice cream business. The role serves as the technical lead and project manager on project teams driving delivery of the Innovation & Renovation portfolio, Brand Maintenance, and Ensure Supply projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of Innovation & Renovation strategy for the supported product categories in the Market.
    • Execute product & process development activities (e.g. mockup, bench top, pilot plant, distribution testing, and internal/external factory testing) to achieve project goals and deadlines to delight the consumer & customer.
    • Lead, Scope, and Drive project team, utilizing project management tools, to achieve project goals and deadlines to delight the consumer & customer.
  • Introduction of new processes within the factories and manufacturers. Collaborate (marketing, technical & production, raw material suppliers, etc.) in a team environment to develop, industrialize, and launch new products, quality improvements, compliance, and efficient cost savings.
  • Continuously improve/optimize current product and processes within factories and external manufacturers according to local business needs and supply situation and/or implementation of initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all company standards. Align with Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream requirements (includes Nutritional Requirement and Sustainability), external standards, and local regulatory framework. Create and/or assist in the development of market level standards within the Dreyer’s systems.
  • Provide first line support to factories. Ensure knowledge transfer related to product/process mastership to eliminate the root cause of assistance requests

 Position requires approximately 20-50% travel

Requirements and minimum education level:

A BS or MS degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.


  • 0-3 years of product/process development experience in CPG
