Key Purpose of the Job: 

  • Project management – proven ability in managing projects from concept to completion. Able to prioritize appropriately and always meet deadlines.
  • Practical knowledge of the Software Development life cycle.
  • Excellent teamwork – ability to assemble and motivate teams and work effectively with others.
  • Strong written & verbal communication – ability to interact with and integrate requests of the Supervisors.
  • Organisation – demonstrated organisational skills, including a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of client/vendor delivery tools and processes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule technology projects in accordance with the Feature Animation roadmaps, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within the scope of resources available.
  • Assist with the direction of development resources and guide developers to meet the needs of each initiative and project.
  • Clearly communicate progress updates to senior stakeholders and the division leadership teams, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Liaise with show and division stakeholders for requirements, priorities, tests, and roll out plans.
  • Facilitate communication and project planning, review and retrospective sessions with the Production Technology and RND teams.
  • Responsible for fostering the Production Technology and RND relationship, ensuring development progress is transparent and the atmosphere cordial.
  • Encouraged to make recommendations for improvements to production and pipeline systems.

 

Job Requirements

  • Proven team leader with strong motivational qualities.

  • Able to effectively communicate with people at all levels.
  • Appropriately elevate issues and solutions to studio leadership.
  • Work to understand the wants and needs of all teams to help prioritize workloads on a short- and long-term basis.
  • Facilitate meetings with all the Supervisors and Production staff to keep the crew informed on development changes and requirements.
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments.

 

Nice to Have

  • Agile (Scrum/Kanban), PMP or PRINCE2 certification
  • Experience in a support or customer service role
  • Basic knowledge of Visual Effects pipelines and tools
