Creature TD - CFX
Description
Creature TDs at DNEG are integral to the development of animation and simulation rigs for creatures, digital doubles, vehicles, props and subsequent simulations. You will find technical and creative solutions to develop high-quality rigs and simulations according to the needs of the production.
Must Have
- Minimum of 3 years experience in feature films
- Thorough knowledge of an area of creature specialization and a broad understanding of the other areas, which include rigging and enveloping in cloth, hair, flesh and crowd simulations.
- Full working knowledge of Maya, Houdini
- Be comfortable with the more technical aspects of creature work where appropriate
- Have strong visual and artistic skills
- Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical creature heavy post-production environment
Nice to Have
- Programming or scripting skills (e.g. Python, Mel), depending on the area of specialization
- An interest in anatomy, tailoring, grooming or mechanics depending on your area of specialization
- Houdini Creature FX set-ups and simulation
- A good General TD background
- Knowledge of Mush3d for shotsculping use
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems

Please note that this is a unionized position and will be covered by a collective agreement between DNEG and IATSE, in the coming months. As a unionized employee, you will be required to join the union and will benefit from the conditions set out in the collective agreement. Union dues will be required once the collective agreement is in place.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 to $75,000; and $110,000 to $135,000. DNEG salary ranges are determined by function, department, level, and location. An individual's pay within a given range is determined by their transferrable or job-related skills and work experience. Salary ranges are modified from time to time based on external market data collected through our third-party surveys.
