Position at DNEG

The Animation Lead is responsible for the supervision of an animation team. In collaboration with the Supervisor, the lead is responsible for guiding the process of choreography and performance, and delivering final animation for feature films.
Key responsibilities
  • Work closely with animation supervisors to create convincing performances and motion. 
  • Provide leadership for the animation team including education and mentoring for animators.
  • Support animation supervisors on developing project schedules and delivering shots within those schedules.
  • Work with animation supervisor to assign shots to animators and ensure all relevant reference is available.
  • Solve an animator's creative and technical issues.
  • Work with the Build Department to ensure that models are suitable for performance needs.
  • Work with animation supervisor to ensure the delivery of a rig that will meet an animator's need for control, functionality, usability and performance.
  • To achieve high quality of performance and acting, setting the standard for the rest of the team.

 

Must Have  
  • 6+ years of CG experience, ideally within feature films
  • Prior experience of leading teams
  • Experience working directly with clients/directors
  • Ability to perform visual and analytical problem solving in 3-dimensional space, including the ability to accurately interpret 3D layouts and analyse 3D form
  • Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks
