Photo Editor, Mydomaine
About the Role
MyDomaine is looking for a part-time (contract) photo editor with strong experience in a creative role for a digital shelter/home design publication.
We are looking for a digitally savvy content enthusiast with a passion for all things home design, who is eager to drive the ongoing evolution and growth of one of Dotdash’s newest brands. The photo editor will work with the MyDomaine teams to develop permissions relationships with designers and photographers in order to build a scaled photo library resource for use by staff editors and writers. This is a part-time (20 hours/week) contract position.
About Your Contributions
-Identify and curate designers, photographers and insiders within the home design space that match MyDomaine’s visual voice
-Manage a permissions/rights process between Dotdash and photographers in order to ensure legal use of images
-Review and edit incoming visual assets for brand style and relevance
-Organize sets of images to ensure ease of search and use
-Perform photo research and updates across new and existing content
-You’re a versatile photographer, photo editor and graphic designer willing to jump in wherever needed on a daily basis.
-3 years experience working in a visual role for a digital publisher (experience in the home/lifestyle space is a must!)
-Well-versed in Photoshop and impeccably organized
-You’d love to spend hours searching for the perfect photo, but can also move quickly to perform photo research and make a decision
-Proactive, flexible team player with a sense of humor, able to roll with the punches and take ownership in a fluid and fast-moving environment
-You’re consistently up to date with industry trends; able to identify visual trends across the beauty and home design spaces
-Solid writing skills
-Detail-oriented and deadline-focused
