Marketing Events and Engagement Coordinator

 

Location: Fort Mill

Reports to: Director, Marketing

 

The Marketing Events and Engagement Coordinator reports to the Director Marketing and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the details of Domtar’s customer events and tradeshows, as well as event promotion, pre- and post-event engagement, and relationship nurturing.  The role will also attend events and tradeshows as necessary to set-up, conduct the events, and close the events.

Key Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with marketing teams who direct and request event, tradeshow, and engagement support.
  • Works closely with requestors and stakeholders (including executives) to develop event/ engagement plans, timelines, identify resource requirements and define project deliverables and milestones to meet key deadlines and execute events. 
  • Manage sourcing, contract negotiations, maintaining materials and logistics to deliver events and engagements efficiently and on budget. 
  • Attend events and tradeshows as necessary to set-up, conduct the events, and close the events.
  • Develop strategies for driving customer engagement through events (in person and virtual), tradeshows and marketing campaigns through Salesforce and social media channels utilized by the company. 
  • Support the development of marketing materials such as brochures, mailings, and presentations as requested by the marketing team.
  • Facilitate marketing communications internally and externally, working closely with the marketing, product management, sales, and operations teams, while coordinating and collaborating with corporate communications.
  • Collaborates with requestors and stakeholders (including executives) to develop event/ engagement plans, timelines, identify resource requirements and define project deliverables and milestone to meet key deadlines and execute events
  • Plan, coordinate and execute events and tradeshows – in person and virtual including but not limited to: Manage sourcing, contract negotiations, maintaining materials and logistics to deliver events and engagements efficiently and on budget. 
  • Support development of marketing materials and will manage promotional items and materials
  • Drive customer engagement before, during and after events to build relationships and drive Domtar customer/ brand loyalty. Develop strategies for driving customer engagement through events (in person and virtual), tradeshows and marketing campaigns through Salesforce and social media channels utilized by the company

  • Very detail oriented

 

Required Education/Professional Experiences:

  • 2+ years of employment experience as an event coordinator or event planner
  • College degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Hospitality Management.
  • Work experience with a sales organization or corporate environment.
  • A professional demeanor and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Experience with event management including contracts, F&B orders, A/V management, onsite logistics, event budgets, program management/ production.
  • Proficient across multiple creative and content management platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft. Office Suite, Google Docs and digital content management systems.
  • Available to travel 35- 30% of the time, domestically and internationally, and on specified dates, for up to 7-10 days at a time.

 

Preferred Education/Professional Experiences:

  • 3 - 5 years of employment experience as an event coordinator or event planner.
  • Work experience with a sales organization or corporate environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Suite, Salesforce, Pardot, Hootsuite, Smart Sheet and Wordpress desirable.
