Operations Maintenance Coordinator

Description:

The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) is responsible for the overall coordination of maintenance activities required for maintaining and ensuring the reliability for all assets in their respective area of operational responsibility

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promotes a safe working environment and safe work practices.
  • Assists in the effectiveness of all maintenance processes including but not limited to, Planning and Scheduling (including Shutdowns), Preventive Maintenance, Break-in work and Emergencies
  • Owns the Work Notification (WN) process for reviewing, managing, approving and releasing WNs to Planning
  • Assists in the effective communication between operations, engineering, reliability and maintenance
  • Works with maintenance supervisors and planners to improve maintenance performance
  • Assists in work force effectiveness for both maintenance and operations by minimizing the potential for delays
  • Communicates directly with operations to eliminate delays with starting scheduled maintenance work
  • Communicates routinely with maintenance, operations, engineering and reliability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Assists in reviewing break-in work to assess the true priority
  • Actively participates in the coordination of work execution between operations and maintenance
  • Facilitates all Planning and Scheduling meetings
  • Communicates and coordinates all scheduled maintenance activities with Shift Supervisors and others affected

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree and at least 2-3 years of pulp/paper mill operations or maintenance experience
  • Experience in cross functional team environment – i.e. Operations/Maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with various operations, environmental, maintenance and engineering levels in a team environment yet be self-motivated and accomplish individual goals.
  • Problem solving, sense of urgency, customer focus and teamwork
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office and computer based maintenance work systems
  • Knowledge of maintenance management principles including precision, preventative, root cause failure analysis, shutdown and contingency planning.
