The Training Specialist reports to the HR Manager and is an owner of processes while functioning within the HR Team for overall success of department and mill goals. Is the process owner of the Rothschild Mill Training Systems for all site staff, collaborates with cross functional teams to analyze training needs and development plans, develops and updates training materials.  The Training Specialist develops systems to evaluate the trainee for effectiveness of training and maintains up to date and accurate training records and reports.  

Primary:

  • Coordinate the development, implementation and delivery of training programs for varying levels of individuals as well as create training manuals and materials to accompany these sessions
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer from subject matter experts in the work environment to formal training programs.
  • Maintains and updates education support materials to be used for reference once training has been completed; maintains historical training records
  • Under the guidance of the HR Manager, consults with the managers and supervisors to assess training needs and develop programs to match these needs (outsourced or in-house)
  • Evaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed
  • Develop metrics to track training effectiveness, on-time delivery, etc.
  • Assist in measuring return on investment of training and development
  • Help to control training investment and cost
  • Act as an advisor and coach to managers and employees providing Human Resources expertise in implementing business initiatives and promoting employee engagement
  • Collaborates with HR Manager to incorporate development goals / plans into a training plan to support success 
  • Coordinates level specific development opportunities such as Supervisor and Manager development programs at the corporate and mill levels
  • Other tasks as assigned and or required within the HR department supporting overall objectives and goals

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in training or management of training systems, human resources, industrial management or related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Major/emphasis in: Human Resources, Education, Training, or equivalent industrial management or training experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, operation of media equipment & personal computers
  • Strong analytical, management and decision-making skills
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
  • Demonstrated high level of time-sensitive work prioritization, accuracy, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to influence & maintain positive working relationships
