Domtar Inc., Dryden Operations, is currently seeking a Power Engineer to become part of our Power & Recovery department. Starting as an entry level operator at the Dryden Mill you have a career development opportunity to embark on a training path to become a control room operator in the power and recovery area. A progressive community set between Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, Dryden offers excellent camping, fishing and outdoor activities.


As an ideal candidate you have:

  • Completed a minimum of Fourth-Class modules towards an Operating Engineer certification.  
  • A positive work attitude and a keen sense of responsibility, particularly with respect to safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and take initiative.
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry will be considered an asset. 


Reporting to the Shift Engineer, at the entry level, your responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting, reporting on, lubricating and cleaning systems such as bark and ash handling systems. 
  • General housekeeping and other duties as assigned by the Shift Engineer.
  • Shift work, evenings and weekends are required.
