Job Description Overview:

As a member of the DataOne marketing team, the Marketing Content Specialist is a key contributor to our marketing initiatives. You will join a collaborative team that works together, and independently, to drive traffic, reach prospects, and continue to build the DataOne brand.  As a Content Specialist you will be focused on developing key content that can be used across multiple channels to support marketing initiatives. Responsibilities:

  • Create content that engages and inspires audiences to interact with the brand.
    • Content channels include email, landing pages, case studies, newsletters, blogs, press materials, press releases, bylined articles, white papers, corporate videos and marketing collateral)
  • Create and source new content for communications 
  • Work with internal resources to create technical content
  • Work with Marketing Manager to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives
  • Refresh and repurpose older content 
  • Assist in communication around events, including client outreach and social media
  • Support communication campaigns and monitor and report results.
  • Complete writing projects, meet deadlines and follow content requirements in terms of style and project specifications

Required Skills:

  • Experience in content writing, copywriting, proofreading and editing for all media platforms
  • Strong general grammar and writing skills
  • Proficient with Gmail, Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • A basic understanding of search engine optimization best practices 
  • Social media and networking expertise.
  • The ability to give and receive feedback on writing projects
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to speak to varying levels across the organization.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field 
  • Ability to multi-task several projects at once
  • Strategic and creative mindset.
  • Hubspot knowledge a plus.
  • A portfolio of work available for review.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Acquired post-hire

  • Excellent understanding of the automotive industry including automotive brands, manufacturers, technology/equipment, vehicle types, market segments, and specifications.

Education/Experience:

  • Previous working experience as writer, blog editor, SEO copywriter, or related role 
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
