Dollar Shave Club, one of the fastest growing direct to consumer men’s personal care companies, is looking for a rockstar Procurement Manager to join our recently established Supply Chain team to drive results together with the Director of Procurement. This individual will own strategic, tactical and operational sourcing and procurement for Indirect categories (Technology, Media, Services, etc.) together with cross-functional partners to drive supplier cost, service, quality and innovation. This individual will also lead or contribute to procurement capability developments, including supplier performance management and scorecarding, disruptive partnerships, sustainability and more. Finally, this individual together with the Director of Procurement will be responsible for certain strategic procurement programs across both Direct and Indirect categories.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement global procurement strategy across all areas of Indirect spend for DSC including Technology, Media, Services, etc. together with cross-functional partners to drive cost, service, quality and innovation
  • Lead, refine and/or implement procurement capabilities across all suppliers (Direct and Indirect) including:
    • Supplier performance management - supplier scorecarding, supplier reviews, continuous improvement, etc.
    • Disruptive partnerships – other startups, DSC physical presence, circular packaging, etc.
    • Sustainability – new business model development, metrics, ROI, reporting, etc.
    • Supplier process improvements – implementation of supplier raw material and packaging directed buys, commodity management, etc. together with Unilever teams with strategic suppliers
  • Partner with Director of Procurement on strategic enterprise cost, quality, innovation improvement programs across Direct and Indirect categories
Planning & Execution
  • Analyze current Indirect category landscape including spend, contracts, suppliers, etc. to develop multiyear plan of Indirect category initiatives to deliver improved performance for the company and report the impact of those initiatives
  • Lead execution of initiatives together with cross-functional partners such as Technology, Acquisition, Digital, Infrastructure, Legal, Facilities, etc.
  • Manage and deliver optimized supplier contracts including scope of work, terms & conditions, etc. in line with business expectations at lower cost, higher quality and higher service
  • Negotiate directly with suppliers to deliver results for DSC
  • Develop and lead implementation of procurement capability developments to improve supplier performance, reduce quality issues, deliver YOY savings, improved data drive insights, reduce lead times, etc.
Stakeholder Alignment & Education
  • Act as a trusted advisor on categories managed from C-suite to Analyst, delving deep to understand multiyear strategies via stakeholder interviews, data analysis, contract reviews and more
  • Bring supply market insights and best practices to develop and refine category strategies to deliver a better outcome for DSC – challenge the “status quo”
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement or refine demand management / spend request processes that are aligned to category strategy
  • 5+ years experience in a dynamic procurement environment, with at least 2-3 years managing Indirect categories such as Technology, Media, Services, MRO, etc.
  • Proven ability to lead teams indirectly to achieve cost, service quality, and time to market commitments
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Ability to quickly derive meaningful data driven insights and make decisions based on those insights
  • Cross-functional experience partnering with various functions and their suppliers including: Technology, Supply Chain, Marketing, Digital Product Management, HR, Legal and Finance
  • Success in collaborating with key work partners
  • Success in managing change through all levels of the organization
  • Strong presentation and writing skills

  • BA in Business Management, Finance or equivalent
