ROLE SUMMARY:

The Marketing Specialist will support the Acquisition/Paid Media team across several paid mass media channels, including audio, TV/CTV, and OOH. This person will serve as the primary day-to-day channel owner for audio specifically. Within audio, these channels will include terrestrial radio, satellite radio, podcasts – endorsers and pre-produced, voice, and streaming audio. Primary tasks will include opportunity development and evaluation/strategic POVs, partner onboarding and implementation process (i.e. pixel implementation), negotiation and budget management, asset/product delivery and trafficking, and reporting. DSC has been in the audio space for several years and we need someone who can partner with the team to bring it to the next level as this space continues to evolve.

This role will also have the opportunity to learn other paid media channels across Acquisition. You must have a desire to learn about all media channels across brand and performance in a fast-paced environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Media Strategy:

  • Translate key customer insights, user behavior, historical performance, and trends into an overall mass media (including audio) strategy that helps deliver key increases in brand health metrics and brings in new members to the club
  • Drive key strategy tenets of the core mass media plan vs. the test-and-learn (T&L) approach
  • Provide deep understanding and regular updates on the audio landscape in terms of new shows, network acquisitions, what competitors are doing, and overall trends across streaming, podcasts and radio, both local and national

Negotiation and Vendor Evaluation:

  • Lead all partner discovery, relationships, and onboarding for audio and potentially other key channels, leading with open lines of communication 
  • Manage and implement overall audio budget, including outreach, evaluation, negotiations, recommendations, and tracking (i.e. flowchart) based on DSC’s goals and objectives, across a large variety of partners, including potential historical partners 
  • Collaborate with team across vendor evaluation and negotiation for other mass media channels
  • Identify and rationalize regular T&L partner and mass media channel ideas to ensure DSC is top-of-mind in the space (i.e. voice)

Measurement and Delivery:

  • Partner with the rest of the mass media team to develop cross-channel learnings across mass media
  • Provide regular optimization recommendations that analyze against key metrics such as scale/length/positioning, CPA, LTV, and product adoption, to back into key brand, performance, and business goals
  • Own audio tracking mechanisms (vanity URLs, promo codes, UTMs, post logs) end-to-end, working closely with Engineering and Strategic Analytics in-house

Creative Trafficking and Product Distribution 

  • Work closely with DSC’s in-house agency/brand comms to develop mass media creative (specifically audio copy to start) and manage overall script rotation process
    • Provide creative briefing and feedback on all script development
    • Manage material deadlines across all audio partners
    • Manage A/B testing and all creative optimizations and customizations
  • Regularly collaborate with influencer team on overall endorser creative and product strategy 
  • Ensure endorsers are receiving regular product drops, in line with overall brands communication moments and adaptable moments
  • Cultivate network/host relationships via regular brand immersions


QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite and familiar with pivot tables/Tableau
  • Expertise in mass media, especially radio/podcasts/audio streaming and the tools that come with it
  • Strong understanding of media attribution 
  • Experience with MRI, Adobe Analytics, DCM, and key audio discovery, analytics, and competitive tools
  • Relationships with networks and vendors, especially in the audio space, such as iHeart, Cadence 13, Barstool Sports, ESPN, Spotify, Pandora, PMM, NPR, PRX
  • Familiarity with dynamic ad insertion 
  • Understanding of standard media metrics (CPA, CPV, CTR) and brand metrics (Awareness, Consideration) 
  • Interested in other mass media channels, digital, influencers and social
