ROLE SUMMARY:
We’re looking for creative, inspired engineering leaders to join our team and help us build and grow our commerce platform. Our platform powers our consumer-facing website, international shops, and partner channels. It includes our subscription billing & transactional systems, internal tools and data streams, and our fulfillment and shipping operations. Built primarily on Node.js and Ruby on Rails we try to pick the right technology for the domain.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coach and mentor engineers in acquiring the technical and collaborative skills needed to progress in their careers
  • Give regular and clear feedback about their direct report’s performance and pathway to career advancement
  • Hold regular 1:1’s with all members of their team
  • Author or oversee implementation plans and identify milestones
  • Teach their team the methods of continuous delivery
  • Run agile project management processes
  • Conduct code reviews, and make technical contributions to product architecture
  • Be a technical ambassador for stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with a leadership team to prioritize, scope, plan and execute technical solutions that empower the business
  • Generate and implement process improvements
  • Actively seek and hire talented individuals
  • Conduct managerial and technical interviews for candidates
  • Foster collaborative technical decision making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary
  • Participate in “On Call” rotation

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2+ years managing high performance software engineering teams
  • 5+ years experience as a software engineer. Preferably with a modern web engineering tech stack.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally to gain consensus
  • Strong grasp of Domain Driven Design
  • The ability to build a technical roadmap the reflects the priorities of the platform and the business
