Data Steward
Description
Dodge Construction Network (Dodge) is seeking a Data Steward to play a key role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of our data assets. This position is responsible for monitoring data quality, executing data improvement initiatives, and working with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows.
The ideal candidate should have strong SQL skills, experience working with AWS QuickSight, Tableau, or other data visualization & analysis tools and the ability to analyze and manage large datasets to improve data integrity. The Data Steward will collaborate with the Data Quality Management team to uphold company-wide data governance and ensure that our data assets align with strategic business objectives.
This position reports directly to the Sr Manager, Operational Performance Management.
Location
This is a remote, home-office based role and candidates located in the continental United States will be considered
Travel Requirements

Essential Functions
- Continuously monitor, measure, and analyze data quality to maintain accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies in accordance with business rules and quality standards
- Develop and implement data validation processes to maintain data integrity
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to extract and validate data
- Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and areas for data improvement
- Support data migration, transformation, and reconciliation efforts
- Develop interactive dashboards and reports using AWS QuickSight and Tableau
- Prepare and present data insights to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making
- Manage the sourcing, structuring, and standardization of data assets
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize workflows and improve data collection processes
- Utilize automation and AI-powered tools where applicable to streamline data quality tasks
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Content, Product, Sales, and Technology teams, to ensure data meets business needs
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, including alignment with industry standards (e.g., DMBOK)
- Contribute to the development of best practices for data stewardship across the organization
Education Requirement
BA/BS Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field or equivalent work experience
Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in a data steward, data analyst, or data governance role, preferably in the construction industry or a data-driven organization
- Proficient in SQL (query writing, data extraction, troubleshooting)
- Experience with AWS QuickSight or Tableau Desktop/Tableau Prep preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, Progress, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of data governance, quality frameworks, and data lifecycle management
- Experience working with large datasets to drive actionable insights
- Strong understanding of data profiling, cleansing, and validation techniques
- Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams
- Self-starter mindset with a proactive approach to data stewardship challenges
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Familiarity with the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK) is a plus
